I crave for food

After this post, I am so gonna dig into Biology.

Somewhere, patriotic folks were waving flags claiming their love for the country. Somewhere, people were studying really hard to ace their trials, their mind so into it they have completely forgotten what date it was. Me, I was out food-hunting with my mom and siblings.

Levain again. I'm never gonna get bored of this place. Third time here and I still can find something new to like. The apple tart, for example. Divine. :D

And that's me with the berries tart? Love.

It's Suria KLCC's turn to revamp the mall. And I can't help saying so far everything looks good. Vincci is gonna reopen and Cache Cache will open there too. Can't wait. :D As for Isetan, it's got this open concept thing going on and the food market looks incredible. You get this very homey feel there. There's loads of people with huge DSLR's photographing every nook and cranny. Bloggers?

There's also a huge mushroom walking around. And I've seen kids walking up to it trying to take a bite. Adorable? :D

Bought some cakes there and I love the packaging. You can write whatever you want on the white space there. :D

Meanwhile, things back at home.

I love the smell of new furniture. :x

Prepping. My brother finds candid shots hilarious. Especially those that have his feet in it.

Here comes the gushing.
After so many trips of searching for an affordable pair of high waisted shorts. I found it. Romp. Gosh. The right fit too. So many possibilities to pair with. So yesterday, paired it with a cropped top from Cotton On. Love how it's longer at the back. What I've seen on fashion sites they call it a mullet thing? And those pointed toe denim pumps hurt like hell. Well, anything that covers the back of my foot hurts. Even flats. Geez. The pumps were an impulse buy last year from Summit because they were so cheap. But I've come to love them because it looks kinda cute actually.

Florence + the Machine. She has an incredible voice. And yea she's not the kind of mainstream sexy pop star. That's like a bonus. I don't really get the lyrics at some parts (too poetic?), since this is supposed to be about Virginia Woolf's suicide in the river. Anyhow, this is the sort of song I'm gonna be humming all day. :D

I'm here to rant about trials. IN FOR THE KILL!

1. TRIALS. GOSH. I totally killed my Sejarah and Moral. My mind went blank!!! Like, totally. So I just crapped. I hope my crap gets an A? That's a really, really tiny kind of chance. But yea. What the hell. Oh right, English too. I wasn't too good with timing my essays and there you go. I totally threw my A+ way out. The only subject I think was OK was BM and Add Maths. Man from the brink of failing to somewhat nailing the first paper (even though my 2nd paper was totally screwed yea). That was a first! I might even get a B for this! And that's like, really good for me?

2. I shouldn't be here. I should be studying. But, erm. Procrastination for a while please? And somehow I'm really addicted to putting most my thoughts on Blogger now. Typing is way faster than writing. Gonna be going to Levain for lunch then Suria cuz Isetan's reopening and the food market's offerings look delish! :D Will talk about that on the next post. Maybe tomorrow? Sunday? Haha.

3. Vampire Diaries is on! No. I must wait.Patience is a virtue. Trials first. Then I get to watch 3 episodes in a row. That's much better right? Ian Somerhalder wait for me!!!!

4. I totally shouldn't but I did it. I took out one of the books I bought from Bookfest and finished it in the timeline of 24 hours. The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Gosh what a good read. I didn't even know they had laws like that? To separate people of different colours! No blacks in white schools because it's against the law! And separate toilets because they have plenty of diseases that may spread to whites? Racism to the max! And Minny is one of my favourite characters ever. Aibileen's great too, but Minny's got this really believable character. She's real. I like how the author portrays her characters from all different sides. The ladies may seem as a loving, doting mother and caring to all of her family members but they can also be the first one to ostracize their own maid. To look at them as though they are worthless low class creatures. :( I really like the trailer and I even checked GSC when it would be aired here. But nope. They're probably not gonna have it in Malaysia EVER. Or maybe I overlooked it. But I read the list twice and I didn't see The Help on it. Till Jan 2012. So that means we're not gonna watch it here. HBO maybe?

Quotes Sheena Liam, whose blog (and oh yeah she's gorge and she has good taste in music from what I saw) I stumbled upon just now, Skrillex and La Roux = Brilliance. OMFG Skrillex is epic awesome. And with La Roux's voice. Perfect to revive a somewhat not-so-motivated soul. I know I know. DUBSTEP FTW!!

Stay Awake, First Heartbreak

“I suppose it’s like mourning isn’t it? It’s as if someone died, because you’re so invested in that person; it’s as if that part of yourself has died you know? It’s gut-wrenching. I suppose you’re both like yin and yang, and then you have to try and feel whole yourself again. Because when you are in a relationship you are kind of meshed in a way.”

I think this is a really cool ad. I love how ads tell a story instead of telling you how awesome their product is and that your life won't be complete without it. Well, then again, I guess Doc Martens won't need any of that. ;p And Agyness Deyn, whoa! Surprise surprise! She's really caught my attention here. That voice of hers (I simply love that wistful tone) and those eyes! Right, that aside. Ever since I saw a picture of those shoes, I shoe-lusted it. Even though it reminds me of Ronald McDonald's shoes but these are way cooler!

Anywaix.. I need to stay awake this whole month! STUDY STUDY STUDY. I hope I can get all A's so I get a 100% fee reduction at Methodist's. But... My BM and Sejarah may only get an A-. -.- Gosh, Sejarah Paper 1 was waaaaaaay tough (ok, partly my fault). Ughs. And yea, my wardrobe has arrived.. Took me few hours to put all my stuff in there. *I colour coordinate my clothes*

OK. Don't start thinking I'm way too obsessed with vanity issues. I do pretty much the same thing with my books and papers (I used to collect fancy papers). Yea. So there you go. :) My room may get messy sometimes but when it's not, it's perfectly organized. :D

Finally. Song of the day. I love, love, love UK male singers! The voice and accent is undeniable! (likes of Tinie Tempah, Coldplay, U2) Example's songs also have that techno kind of beat so that's a much appreciated bonus! :D

Bookfest 2011, KLCC

I can't sit there and study all day. Nope. But I see a lot of us don't. Once in a while, we go online, we complain about Sejarah or get out, far far away from reference books. So. Yea. I went out a lot this week, but mostly to Ikea and furniture shops since I'm switching rooms. *YES, I'M GETTING A BIGGER WARDROBE*

As for yesterday, I went to KLCC for the Bookfest. Didn't go crazy this time, I only bought books I was sure to get addicted to. And after discounts, all my books were only RM200, less than last year! I'd gotten myself The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie, Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy (minus the first one), The Upside of Irrationality (which seems like a cool book at an even cooler price), Paul Auster's Travels in the Scriptorium (I'd just became a fan of Paul Auster), The Confession by John Grisham (Read a few chapters at the bookstore sometime ago), The Help (and yes, I love stories where the underprivileged fight for their own rights), Duma Key and Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. I think that's all? I would love to get a few chick lits, to balance all these serious issues. But nahh. Maybe next time. My bank account is bleeding. T~T

My brother's the one wearing a yellow tee. He went for the colouring contest. :D

Yup, this is the face of future Best Comedian. Went to Madam Kwan's before leaving.
Look of the day. Borrowed oversized grey top from my sis, added a green shirt inside (hand-me-down from aunt) and shorts from Romp. I love my Vincci brogues. The brown is perfect to go with most my clothes. :D
There's this park outside the exhibition centre, which is really pretty. Not much of a crowd as well, so I can take as many pictures as I like without feeling awkward. :x

 Furry bag re-appearing here!

That's all for now. I bought a pair of high waisted shorts from Romp. I haven't went there for a while, and I don't usually shop there for clothes but I only realised on recent shopping trips that they have really nice and affordable shorts, IN MY SIZE. I fit between a S and M, which is really troublesome because most places I go, it's either too loose or tight.. Or too expensive for a student like me.

P.S. I love the new changes made to Blogger! And yepp, my pictures are now bigger. x)

Favourite song of the mo. Her voice is like heaven, if there is one.

Well. That's all for now. Gotta go back to studying Sejarah. Yeesh.
